Importance of Physical Exercise

----This is the continuation of the previous blog-------

How physical exercise can improve the immunity level???
When the normal position of the body is altered or when a part of the body is moved or turned towards the earth or away from it, the location of the three media (blood, heat and air) in that portion or part can be controlled.

When a part of the body is turned towards the earth, a little more blood flows to that part and little more air goes to the other side or part of the body which is upward. In addition to this, if a rhythmic movement is also given, all the three media are suitably regulated.

This is the basic principle for any physical exercise which contains two aspects: Postures and Movements. By changing the postures and movements one can control the flow of blood, heat and air in a particular portion of the body and bring the harmonious relationship with each other. If these three mediums are regulated properly, then the circulation of life-force inside the body would be smooth and generates sufficient Bio-magnetism for both Physical and Mental functions.

Through such systematic and well regulated movements, the various part of the body get cleansed, strengthened and rejuvenated. Thus we can, through proper physical exercises, achieve a level of  immunity against diseases which will enable us to maintain good health in spite of occasional erroneous actions or adverse natural forces

A trained teacher is very important:
There are various types of exercise available, starting from body building, karate, yogasana, pranayama, acu-pressure, massage, etc… and they all formulated in various countries according to the climatic conditions, the mode of life and various other factors prevailing in those situations. Most of the exercises were formulated, when things are very slow and people can spend almost 3 hours a day for physical exercise.

Now the situation is very different, we are living in the age of speed, it is hard to find even 1 hour for physical exercise. Hence our needs too are different and we can’t blindly adopt the exercises devised long ago that were found suitable for those times.

 E.g. Yoga Asanas:
There are about 10,000 thousand Yogasanams (even more than that) available, each has its own benefits and side effects too. Only a proper yoga teacher can choose the required exercise for the current world and sequence them in such a way that the side effects of one is nullified by the other and gives exercise to almost all the important parts of body. Hence, it is important to learn yoga exercise (or any exercise) from a qualified teacher in that field.

How physical and mental health are disturbed through our own actions???
This will be our next topic of discussion “Moderation in Five things (food, sleep, work, sex and use of thought force)”
